- an entire day from Denver to Colorado, through the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and right UP through Rocky Mountain National Park.
- looking down into vast old forests of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
- the bus ride from Emmeryvile into San Franciso (which was a) exciting, and b) the first truly jovial and helpful bus driver I have encountered thus far on the journey).
Last night was utter bliss. I got to go for a run along the piers, shower, do laundry, go out for some very good and cheap Thai food with a lovely room mate from Spain, and sleep well in an actual bed. I can't say enough about Hosteling International in Fisherman's Wharf, and would return here for a longer stay in a minute. I am hoping that HI-Seattle is up to the same high standards.
Today I am in Fisherman's Wharf until about 7:30 pm, when I will be catching the Amtrak bus back to Emmeryville to get on a train headed for Seattle (about 22 hours).
My POSTCARD from Rocky Mountain National Park is complete (see above), and the one from Chicago/Millenium Park is 90% complete (I will post the finished product after my second visit to Chicago on Tuesday). In my wandering travels of the city today, I will begin the postcard from Fisherman' Wharf.
